Admissions Process

We are so glad you are considering Christ Our King – Stella Maris School to help nurture and educate your child(ren).

Christ Our King-Stella Maris School was established to serve the Catholic community living east of the Cooper River. Our supporting Catholic parishes include:

• Christ Our King

• Stella Maris

• St. Clare of Assisi

• St. Benedict

Students from outside these parishes who desire a Catholic education are warmly welcome to apply. 

 

We are excited to welcome new families to Christ Our King – Stella Maris School. Applications open September 1st for the following school year. Our rolling admissions process allows us to review applications as they come in, and in the event that a grade reaches capacity, we will start a waitlist. In order to create the best possible learning environment for every child, we keep optimal class sizes so students receive the attention and support they need to thrive.

Required Documents

To complete an application, please provide the following:

• Online Application

• Birth Certificate

• Current DHEC Immunization Record

• Academic record (to date)

• Teacher Recommendation (3 required for middle school applicants)

• Standardized Test Records (to date)

• Parish Verification Form (for Catholic applicants, completed by your parish pastor)

• Copy of Baptismal Certificate (for Catholic applicants)

• Record and dates of sacraments received (Catholic applicants) such as Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation

⚠️ Age Requirement: Students applying to 4-year-old Pre-K must be 4 years old by September 1st.

On a case-by-case basis, the following may also be required:

• Family Interview

• Academic Assessment

These steps help ensure proper placement and support for each student.

Please note: Students are not formally admitted until all documents have been received and reviewed.

Priority for Admission

In the event of a waitlist due to limited capacity, applications will be considered in this order:

 

*Sibling priority (as with parishioner tuition rates) applies only to families who are registered and active members of Christ Our King, Stella Maris, St. Clare of Assisi, or St. Benedict Parish.
